Jason Walker began a career in video games in 1994 when he was offered a job at Codemasters as a tester in QA for Micro Machines on the SNES. During this time he was paid daily, cash in hand, for every day he worked. Upon acquiring this job he decided to leave college and soon ended up working at Codemasters full-time for a total of four years. Whilst at Codemasters he worked his way through the ranks from tester to test manager, although he never actually obtained the test manager title.
After his four year spell at Codemasters he decided to leave the games industry and take up some contract IT work. And although the money was worthwhile, he eventually decided to rejoin the gaming ranks with Eidos Interactive. Since his employment with Eidos he's moved up from Senior Lead Tester to Head of Mastering and Compatibility. Good man.
Jason Walker's first video game work that SPOnG is aware of is the 1995 title, "Micro Machines: Turbo Tournament 96" (SNES) as QA/Test. Of the titles listing Jason within the credits , "Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines" (PC), "LEGO Star Wars" (PS2), "Championship Manager Season 03/04" (PC), "Tomb Raider" (N-Gage), "Sword Of The Berserk: Guts' Rage" (Dreamcast) has been a best selling title.
Jason's most recent involvement was as QA Management on the 2007 release "Free Running" (PSP).
