Summary

Rumours of a supernatural monster sweep through and utterly terrorise town in the west of England. The death of an apparently eccentric aristocrat is made even more strange when his corpse goes missing. There are gruesome murders. With the local police unable to solve the crimes, it’s the set-up for a survival horror-cum-detective outing in which the gamer plays Detective Briscol – a man of morals and logical deduction. But there’s also petty thief Timothy Moor to play in an unlikely crime-solving partnership.

The gamer plays both Detective Briscol and Timothy Moor in alternating turns, using the skills and experience of both to get to the bottom of the mysteries. The game, from developer Future Games which made the Black Mirror titles, plays out in the city of Plymouth in 19th century England. It uses 3D character models and hi-res backgrounds which are also affected by both realistic lighting and shadow effects.

With more than 80 locations including Plymouth itself as well as surrounding areas, and 30 non-playable characters to interact with, there is plenty to explore.

Exploration will unearth not only clues but also more than 150 other items and all of this is given creepy atmospherics by more than 1,000 sound effects.
