The game is an all-round experience that enables the use of camera and mic – and internet uploading of your greatest or worst performances to the Def Jam Rapstar community online.
Def Jam Rapstar uses its own, custom-made voice recognition technology to ensure that the gamer has got the lyrics down correctly as well as judging pitch and timing. This tech doesn't allow you simply to hum along, you've got to nail the words to advance.
With Freestyle mode gamers can also create and perform their own lyrics over classic tracks from top producers.
In Battle Mode players can compete locally head-to-head for the highest score, while Duet Mode, sees gamers collaborate to reach the highest scores on a range of tunes.
