Summary

Hacking is fun. Slashing is fun. Video game history has told us time and again that sticking them together in one game equals even more fun. Throw in some pistols and a hot, female anime protagonist and it looks very much like you're onto a winner!

Ayumi, the hot female anime protagonist in question, is not your run of the mill nice, well-intentioned treasure hunter. She's after an artefact that, long ago, a god supposedly emptied all of his power into. If that's true, she wants it for herself. If it's not... well, she might be able to sell it for a few bucks, might she? The problem is that, once she gets it, she finds herself the victim of a powerful curse. Banished to a mystical island, it's now up to Ayumi to conquer that curse.

With enemies coming in hard and fast, Ayumi will have to rely on her blades, pistols and a dollop of magic. Want to hear something creepy? Players can upgrade Ayumi's magic abilities with the game's currency of choice - souls. The abilities she chooses to enhance will affect the outcome of the game, too, depending on whether she follows the path of light (defensive, regenerative) or dark (destructive) magic.

With 20-something hours of gameplay lined up, gamers looking for a deep action adventure experience should be happy with X-Blades.
