Puzzle fans will recognise the name of Puyo Puyo. Belonging to the quite large sub-genre of puzzlers in which four blocks of the same colour must be united to be eliminated, Puyo Puyo appeared on a host of platforms, from SNES to Dreamcast. Now its coming to GBA, in the form of Puyo Pop Fever.
The arbitrary storyline describes a young girl in a world far away who wished to become a powerful magic user. The cult Japanese game provides colourful and extremely addictive gameplay, and its varied too, with four different one-player games to choose from. Making the most of GBA connectivity, it also features two and four player multiplayer modes, as well as the trumpeted Fever game of the title. Fever is a new twist on the old Puyo Puyo, in which the object is to cause a string of coloured block chain reactions with the hope of destroying your opponent.
Puzzler fans who haven't yet made the jump to DS can enjoy puzzling fun on their GBA with this delightful title.
