Summary

Burning Road, then. It's certainly fast and furious, but ultimately limited in it's appeal. The blurb on the back of the jacket claims that it's so real you can see the skidmarks. Lofty claims indeed. Truth is, there are limited options in this game. The unfortunate thing is that the people responsible for it seem to have sacrificed everything that can possibly light the ring in a racing game for pure speed. There's very little in the way of thrills and spills here, and totally unrealistic handling. You can throw the cars around the track as much as you like, but they never stray off track and never get damaged in collisions. The graphics are migraine-inducingly loud and blocky, and the accompanying music is hilariously overblown.

There are seven computer opponents to race against in single player mode, you can go head to head, or take advantage of link up. Unfortunately, in an already overcrowded genre, Burning Road is a comparative Y-reg Ambassador of a game.
