So what's the upshot?

Do we like Revolution or not?

Many people will be doing the same knee jerk reaction as when the Big N released the details on the DS (yes i'm talking about you pilot 13).

I'll be honest. At first I really did laugh at the images. And I still think it looks stupid. But I have to say, I'm on the fence here. I'm sceptical, but only because I desperately want it to work yet am fairly sure it won't. I'm kind of worried we'll end up with a million eye toy 'lite' games. We'll see when there's some actual software to play.

I love Nintendo just for this... bold traditionbreaking innovation...yeah bring it all down!! BRING IT ALL DOWN!!
right sorry... the key of succes for this controller is use in games. Now you can bet Nintendo has some ideas cooking up and forming into games. Third parties is another matter. Now i can see a DS-esque scenario happening in Japan with some teams also coming up with goofy and innovative games that we're never going to see over here but want so baaaaaaaadly. heck the Japanese are allready going serious gaga on this thing and luckily the developer/artist still has a good say on his games (mostly because his team is the publisher also).

In comes the western thrid parties where if the developer says yes and the publisher says no it's no, end of story, get your butt back to work...
Sure a good portion of the publishers have said positive (mostly generic) stuff about the Revolution, it doesn't mean squat if they put they don't walk the walk.
Will EA implement 'actually swinging the bat' control in the Revolution version of their baseball something 20xx games? Will all the FPS ports use the wand-aiming (how much more programming does it take to implement it actually? Retro had their MP2 demo made in a few weeks with the wand-aiming so maybe the hardware itself helps out developers a lot with the implementing) contrary to the X360 and PS3 versions. Will Ubisoft make a speciale control system for Splinter Cell (try to imagine all the kick-ass stuff you can do with that wand...it gives me goosebumps)?

Also, how long will it take for xbox-diehards to realize that Halo 3 is being developed on the wrong console (yeah you heard me, THE WRONG CONSOLE, suck it up and live with it crybaby) and see the light that is the Revolution... (same goes for all you Sony-bitches).

This could be the beginning of a very good time to be a gamer in general.
Nintendo, you opened the box of conventional gaming, now open up your console for any unconventional developers and push this thing. I don't want this industry going down the tubes again because the consolemakers give developers no incentive to innovate and actually motivate flooding the market with generic s**t.
